Independence Day Success

Over the last 10 days we have had some pretty tough weather, but we were able to get a couple of trips in. Last weekend it was “farmers in the bay” and they caught a number of fish before storms chased us off.
I have still been hanging out east of the channel and still running crawlers. Kudos go to “heat wave” for having me add more “pink” blades into my spread. They have paid off.

Today we were fortunate to take advantage of the freedoms that others have preserved for us. These guys fished with me 2 years ago and reminded me that we brought in 25 last trip (that did include 2 perch). Today we punched their tickets – while we didn’t start off with a bang, we finished with fireworks. We had rods all over the place waiting to be reset and catch more fish. Being that they were seasoned veterans aboard the Rock N Reel, they helped out a lot and kept on the rods. They also had some stellar catfish and sheepshead to add to their limits of walleye.

Thankful to be a part of this Great Nation where we enjoy opportunities like this.
Be safe and enjoy the holiday weekend. More posts to come..
